Description : A Message to Garcia and Other Essays is a collection of nineteen essays written by Elbert Hubbard, an American writer, philosopher, publisher and artist. He founded the Roycroft Arts and Crafts Community in New York and also set up a printing shop, where he began printing “The Philistine” magazine. The publication was quite popular during that time and contained articles, filled with Hubbard's sardonic wit, satire and often controversial commentary. "A Message to Garcia," an inspirational essay that celebrated the initiative of Major Andrew Rowan during the Spanish-American War, was included in an 1899 edition of the magazine. This essay, originally intended as a filler article for the magazine, became an iconic piece of American literature. This and other 18 essays have been included in this book. An outstanding piece of literature for classic literature readers!
